Marthe

2024
A Chenin Blanc with a freshness reminiscent of orchard fruit, full of tension, vibrance and depth.

Appelation

AOC Anjou Blanc

Terroir

Anjou Noir schist and sandstone soils of the Armorican Massif, bordered by the Layon.

Viticulture

Organic certified vines, trained using cordon and double Guyot methods, mostly over 30 years old. Mechanical soil work, with flowering fallow land sown to boost biodiversity and soil life. No chemical inputs, following a transition begun in 2021. Hand-harvested with strict sorting in the vineyard.

Winemaking and Ageing

Minimal intervention in the cellar. Pressing is slow and cold, and our alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for one year in 228-litre barrels.

Vintage

2024 will be remembered as a true winegrower's vintage, marked by exceptional rainfall, intense mildew pressure, and a significant overall drop in volumes across the Loire Valley. The harvest, which came late, began in mid-September to allow for optimal ripeness despite the weather conditions.

Tasting Notes

Behind its grey-gold colour lies an orchard of pears and fresh apples, its scents enhanced by a delicate touch of oak. The palate is lively, held together by a tension that the oak underpins. The full emotion is magnified in a vibrant finish.

Food & Wine Pairing

Tataki de thon rouge et croûte de sésame.
Ceviche de Noix de Saint-Jacques.

Ageing & Serving

Up to 10 years. Serve between 10°C and 12°C.
