Les Perles

2021
100% Crémant Chardonnay, fresh, round and lightly oaked, built to carry a whole meal.

Appelation

AOC Crémant de Loire

Terroir

Anjou Noir. Schist and sandstone soils of the Armorican Massif, bordered by the Layon."

Viticulture

Vines certified organic since 2024, trained using cordon and double Guyot methods, mostly over 30 years old. Mechanical soil work, with flowering fallow land sown to boost biodiversity and soil life. No chemical inputs, following a transition begun in 2021. Hand-harvested with strict sorting in the vineyard.

Winemaking and Ageing

Minimal intervention in the cellar. The pressing is slow and cold, and our alcoholic fermentations take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wine spends four months in barrels, then is aged for two years on lees (sur lattes).

Vintage

2021 will be remembered as a vintage of resilience on the Loire. A year marked by April frost, heavy mildew pressure throughout spring and summer, and severely reduced volumes. The fine dry, sunny late season from véraison onward nonetheless allowed satisfying ripeness to be reached for those who persevered.

Tasting Notes

The robe is pale golden yellow, animated by a fine, persistent effervescence. The nose is distinctive and refined, opening on iodine and smoky notes that give this Crémant an immediately recognisable character. The palate confirms this personality, both fresh and round, carried by a subtle oaky structure and a delicate effervescence.

Food & Wine Pairing

A wine for the whole meal: this Crémant is the ideal bubble to carry you through an entire meal.
Fattened hen in vin jaune sauce.
Truffle risotto.

Ageing & Serving

Currently drinking well for up to five years. Serve between 8°C and 10°C.
