Cabernet d’Anjou

2025
A rosé wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon tender and indulgent above all else.

Appelation

AOC Cabernet d’Anjou

Terroir

Anjou Noir. Schist and sandstone soils of the Armorican Massif, bordered by the Layon.

Viticulture

Vines certified organic since 2024, trained using cordon and double Guyot methods, mostly over 30 years old. Mechanical soil work, with flowering fallow land sown to boost biodiversity and soil life. No chemical inputs, following a transition begun in 2021. Hand-harvested with strict sorting in the vineyard.

Winemaking and Ageing

Minimal intervention in the cellar. Stainless steel tanks preserve the freshness and authenticity of the fruit. Low-temperature fermentation locks in the aromas and preserves the fruity, floral character typical of Cabernet d'Anjou. Judicious use of sulphur. Residual sugar: 35 g/L

Vintage

2025 is shaping up to be one of the finest vintages of the decade in the Loire, with the harvest setting a new record for earliness, under particularly favourable conditions. A dry, warm year, marked by two summer heatwaves, almost no mildew pressure, and grapes in excellent condition.

Tasting Notes

Its intense salmon-pink colour, with the bright highlights characteristic of the vintage, carries generous aromas of crushed strawberries, boiled sweets, and confectionery. The nose is expressive and immediately appealing, hinting at a palate to match: round, generous and indulgent, carried by jammy red fruit — strawberry and raspberry — with an overall balance preserved by a welcome freshness on the finish.

Food & Wine Pairing

Aperitif platter.
Strawberry tart.
Salmon poke bowl with avocado, mango and edamame.

Ageing & Serving

Drink within 3 years. Serve between 6°C and 8°C.
